Watching the workouts and tryouts
over the past few weeks has been an absolute joy. Every player that
participated demonstrated an exceptional amount of talent, positive
energy, teamwork and overall fastball skill. Everybody should be proud
of their effort and abilities and I'm confident every player will have
an awesome 2016
The evaluators and I were left with the very difficult challenge of establishing the most appropriate roster to achieve our team goals for the season while providing
every player the right environment for them to demonstrate and develop their skills.
Our challenge was a good one. Too much talent!
The players trying out were a mix of 2000 and 2001 born players all at different stages of their development but clearly all with the potential to dominate in the right environment.
With that in mind the decision has been made to go with a roster made entirely of players born in the year 2000. There is some amazing talent at the 2001 level that deserves to flourish and develop in 2016 and there are a number of teams in the region that could accommodate these players (regardless of birth year) to create at least one other elite program in the region.
