Midget Tier 1 Tryout - Update
Below is the confirmed tryout schedule for next years Byron-Springfield Combined Midget Tier 1 team. Due to diamond availability, tryout #2 has been moved from Sunday to Saturday but still in Springfield

Tryout #1 - Byron Complex - 7pm -  Tuesday September 6
Tryout #2 - Springfield Complex 5pm - Saturday September 10 (changed)
Tryout #3 - Byron Complex - 7pm - Tuesday September 13th

The team will be selected after the September 13th tryout.   I've received some questions that everybody may appreciate the answers to....

1Q. Are you sure this is really happening? Websites aren't accurate and are a bit confusing.
1A. Absolutely we are certain this is happening. Coach Pete is running his Mustang tryouts right now and a number of 'web authors' are on vacation so the website content still needs to be refreshed but this is most definitely real. We have met a number of times and both Byron and Springfield are very excited about the potential of this team.

2Q.  What happens if I don't make the Tier 1 team? Where can I go?
2A.  Springfield still plans on fielding a Tier 2 Midget in addition to supporting the Tier 1 team with Byron. Tryouts for the Springfield Tier 2 team will be held simultaneously with this tier 1 team so players will be given option of being considered for that team immediately.  Byron also hosts a Midget Tri-County competitive team that has tryouts in Feb/March that is looking to enter PWSA in 2017.  Furthermore, there are a number of other PWSA affiliated programs in the area that will be hosting tryouts in September.   http://www.pwsaontario.com/coachesplayers/team-information-database/

3Q.  Other associations are holding tryouts at the same time? How would you recommend I balance all of my choices?
3A.  The dates for this team were based on Coach Pete's availability as the Mustangs are in action practically every day during the tryout season.  We always encourage players to get as much information as possible to ultimately find the best fit for them.  Given Byron-Springfield is only having 3 tryouts we suggest attending our tryouts early to get a sense of whether or not you feel it's the right opportunity for you.

4Q.  Who else is on the coaching staff?
4A. Only Pete Lemon and Shaun Winship are confirmed as coaches for the Tier 1 team.  The rest of the coaching roster will be established by Coach Pete after the players have been selected and confirmed.

5Q.  What kind of commitment will this team require?
5A.  Winter workouts for the entire team will be periodically booked around the city of London and scheduled around the Mustang winter workouts. Pitchers and catchers will meet with Coach Shaun at his clinic in Springfield on a regular basis.  This team expects to enter ~6 Tier 1 tournaments over the 2017 summer prior to Grands (~2/month from May to July with some in U.S. but majority in Canada) in addition to playing several games around South Western Ontario.  We will be hosting games in both Byron and Springfield and will attempt to schedule as many doubleheaders as we can on weekends.  Practices will be in Byron a majority of the time and Springfield periodically to leverage the great facilities of both associations.
