BOMBA

Board of Directors Position Summary

 

President:

-          Preside over all meetings of the board of directors

-          General management and supervision of the affairs and operations of BOMBA

-          One of two signing officers of BOMBA along with the Treasurer

-          Books all diamond usage from Complex, City of London, and School Boards

-          Head of any disciplinary decisions in regards to Coaches/Players/Parents

-          Sits on Tincaps Board of Directors

-          City of London Contact person

-          Maintains relationships with all other association Presidents to ensure good relations

 

Treasurer:

-          One of two signing officers of BOMBA along with the President

-          Conduct, monitor and report on all financial transactions

-          Oversee the annual operating and capital budget process

-          Finalize the annual financial report and provide to the Byron Optimist Club

VP Baseball/Co-ed Baseball:

-          Oversees all aspects of the Baseball and Co-ed program and assists Baseball HL Convener 11U-18U as well as 4U,          5U, 7U and 9U Conveners.

-          BTL/LDBA contact for BOMBA

-          Works with President on any disciplinary action against a Coach/Player/Parent

-          In charge of hosting any BOMBA Baseball Tournament

 

VP Fastball:

-          Oversees all aspects of the Fastball program and Select Tournament Teams. Assists with Fastball Convener 11U-21U

-          CSL Contact for BOMBA

-          Works with President on any disciplinary actions against a Coach/Player/Parent

-          In charge of hosting any BOMBA Fastball Tournament (CSL or in house)

 

 

 

Secretary:

-          Responsible for all note taking and matters pertaining to BOMBA board mtgs

-          Will give notice ahead of yearly AGM mtg in October of every year to community at large

-          Head planner of annual end of year banquet, will ask for assistance from other board members

-           

 

Baseball Convener 11U-18U:

-          Working with VP Baseball to select coaches

-          Puts together teams, runs evaluations

-          First contact for Coaches and Parents

-          Will attend all BTL mtgs and will also be the convener for the age group BOMBA is hosting at the BTL league.

 

Fastball Convener 11U-18U:

-          Working with VP Fastball to select coaches

-          Puts together teams, runs evaluations

-          First contact for Coaches and Parents

 

Registrar:

-          Works with Webmaster to establish an online registration system

-          Manages database and gives VP’s, Conveners and President, Treasurer regular updates

-          Answers all questions to parents and if not sure reach out to a VP.

 

 

Webmaster:

-          Manages www.byronbaseball.ca

-          Keeps all pages updated with correct information

-          Works with all board members to include content that is relevant to all BOMBA activities

 

Complex Rep:

-          Attends all Complex Board Meetings

-          Is the voice from BOMBA to the Complex Committee

-          Reports back to the BOMBA board on all things going on at the Complex

-          If something is urgent in nature, you will contact BOMBA President right away

Summer Camps:

-          Plans yearly summer camp

-          Hires instructors and any volunteers

-          Runs the day to day operations of the camp

-          Works with Webmaster to create an online form to sign up athletes

 

Optimist Rep:

-          Typically, an active member of the Byron Optimist Club

-          BOMBA’s voice to the Optimist Club of Byron

-          Reports back to BOMBA on Optimist Club activity

-          Is the liaison for any financial assistance required for participants from the club and will work with BOMBA                    President on who may need assistance.

 

Diamond Scheduler:

-          Works with BOMBA President to setup initial diamond availability based on early registration numbers and                      allocation of City and School Board diamonds

-          Primary contact for all BOMBA Coaches and outside rentals to ensure diamonds are being utilized.

-          Will book practices and games for all teams.

-          Works closely with Webmaster as all bookings are done through BOMBA website

-          If possible, ensure alignment of BOMBA website with league schedules

-          Books batting cage up in a fair way to accommodate all teams

Equipment Manager/Diamond Boxes:

-          In charge of all of BOMBA’s equipment inventory. Which includes but not limited to (Player equipment, bats, bases,        pitching machines, diamond equipment boxes)

-          Will hand out all equipment to coaches pre-season in good working order

-          Will maintain diamond boxes during the year including gas for pitching machine generators

-          Will collect all equipment from coaches and diamond boxes at conclusion of season and will make a list of any thing        needed to be ready for next year to the President and Treasurer.

-          Maintains equipment room at complex and tidiness

-          Also in charge of Batting cage net and gear

-          Works with suppliers to ensure we are getting the best pricing

Uniform Director:

-          In charge of placing the orders for all approved uniforms

-          Works with suppliers to ensure we are getting the best pricing

-          Works with VP’s on needs of their players as far as fit and design of uniforms

-          Stays in close communication with Registrar to be aware of overall numbers

-          Looks after distribution of uniforms to coaches and any changes needed due to sizing

Sponsorship Director:

-          Establishes business contacts in our community to help drive extra funds for BOMBA program

-          Creates a sponsorship program yearly to best suit BOMBA’s needs

-          Works closely with Treasurer and Webmaster

Umpire in Chief:

-          In charge of everything to do with Umpires in the BOMBA program

-          Will organize and host a clinic along with OBA yearly for the benefit of BOMBA

-          Will be a leader and coach for young umpires

-          First point of contact for a complaint from either an umpire or a coach.  Will work with VP and President if matter          needs escalating

 

Police Checks/Risk Management:

-          Will ensure all volunteers have up to date Police Checks and or declarations on file

-          Ensure BOMBA has appropriate insurance

-          Provides insurance certificates to the coaches/BOMBA representatives who are required to produce one

-          Overall risk management of BOMBA operations and will report back to board if they find something that could be            improved to reduce any potential risk

4U Convener:

-          Works with VP Baseball

-          First point of contact to all 4U participants and parents

-          Will put together teams ensuring appropriate coaching staff(s) are in place

-          Work with Uniform director and Equipment Manager for all of their needs

-          Will make up the schedule of practices and games for the year and convey to parents and diamond scheduler to be        inputted on website

5U Convener:

-          Works with VP Baseball

-          First point of contact to all 5U participants and parents

-          Will put together teams ensuring appropriate coaching staff(s) are in place

-          Work with Uniform director and Equipment Manager for all of their needs

-          Will make up the schedule of practices and games for the year and convey to parents and diamond scheduler to be        inputted on website

7U Convener:

-          Works with VP Baseball

-          First point of contact to all 7U participants and parents

-          Ensure appropriate coaching staff(s) are in place

-          Will put together teams and Run evaluations to balance teams if needed

-          Work with Uniform director and Equipment Manager for all of their needs

-          Will make up the schedule of practices and games for the year and convey to parents and diamond scheduler to be        inputted on website

9U Convener:

-          Works with VP Baseball

-          First point of contact to all 9U participants and parents

-          Ensure appropriate coaching staff(s) are in place

-          Will put together teams and Run evaluations to balance teams if needed

-          Work with Uniform director and Equipment Manager for all of their needs

-          Will be part of the BTL mtgs along with VP Baseball and President.  Oakridge Baseball runs the 9U BTL division so          will work closely with that contact during the season.
