Final Tryout Sunday Night
Submitted By Toby O'Hara on Saturday, September 12, 2015
Final tryout for the Byron Competitive Bantam Fastball team.
6:00pm Sunday Sept 13

There was exceptional talent demonstrated a the first tryout so the coaching staff has some very difficult decisions to make (in a good way!)

Some notes about the practice plan for Sunday:

Our plan is still on to conduct our final tryout Sunday evening at 6pm at the Byron Complex on Boler Road.  The roster will then be finalized early this week to allow all of the local associations and the players to make fully informed decisions for next year.

The practice plan for Sunday night will include separate drills for the prospective pitchers and catchers.  If you are a catcher please bring your gear. There will be some team gear available for you as well.  We will also be emphasizing some hitting drills. Something we didn't get to see enough of at the first tryout.

Lastly, we will also be playing a controlled scrimmage where positions will be assigned by the evaluators to players based on their pre-registration surveys of their primary positions as well as to create the opportunity to see the players in a number of different positions. This will help ensure this team will be successful.

Players are definitely welcome to attend even if they were not able to make the first tryout. We are still focused on selecting the best players to help us achieve our goals.

if you have any questions, comments or concerns by all means contact Toby O'Hara at [email protected]

See you at the diamond!
